MEET LAUREN

Since childhood, I've been captivated by the art of storytelling. My early exposure to performing arts allowed me to recognize my passion, and nurture my deep love for it. When deciding on a college path, I gravitated toward the realm of creativity, and that's when I knew journalism was for me.

Temple University has given me countless opportunities to create stories that impact the Philadelphia community and beyond. I have spent my time as an anchor for Temple Update Now and a freelance reporter for Temple Update, an award-winning weekly live news broadcast run by Temple students. I recently had the opportunity to anchor and produce stories for The Temp, an award-winning television show that covers lifestyle news and all things Philly.

I also serve as a member of the Temple Association Of Black Journalists, a social media correspondent for the university's official social accounts, and the choreographer of a Broadway theatre club, Broadway On Broad!

Outside of my work at Temple, I am a member of the National Association Of Black Journalists (NABJ), a member of the Big Brother Big Sister organization, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
